Day 321: Alt J, Glozell and The Cinnamon Challenge, Hula Hoops and Handstands, Tikka Masala and Zoolander…

Alt J – excuse the language but f*ckin awesome. These my favourite for today: Intro and Breezeblocks. You could get drunk and sunburnt listening to this music. =) / Glozell, you are friggin nuts. Thank you for the entertainment. I hate to love it! / This is what Jo and I do during our lunch and coffee breaks at work… =p Grateful for the space! =p / Mince meat tikka masala – YUM! / Zoolander… so many precious moments. Unfortunately, I have seen that face all to often =p Grateful / And there you have it. You can see how my day went. Pretty fun stuff. Grateful! =) x

Day 316: Baba Hanuman, The day Anna sleeps over, Our MasterChef Cook-Off and 21 Jump Street…

This feeling… nothing can take it away. x / Grateful for the day Anna comes round to see the new house for the first time and challenges me to a Master Chef cook-off. Though… sorry to say this, banans, but I totally win this round! 😉 Better luck next time =p / 21 Jump Street – so funny I have now seen this film 2 days in a row… and laughed equally as loud and hard both times =D

Day 310: The ‘Thank You’ Prayer, Summer picnics on the roof and Paula Cole…

“If the only prayer you said in your life was ‘Thank you’, that would suffice.” – I think this message by Eckhart sums this blog up quite nicely in 16 words. I wish I could be so concise! 😉 Alas, I’ve yet another 56 days to make my point =p / Summer picnics with Kat and Sue on the roof. Grateful! / I am really loving this dish right now. I call it ‘My Vegetarian Moroccan Rice Bowl’, except I use cous cous instead of rice =p YUM! / Today, my mom asked me if I’d heard of this song by Paula Cole. I was like, Mom – we grew up listening to this song! Remember when music videos used to look like this?! Bet you feel old now, huh! =p Anyway, nice bit of nostalgia and admission there for you x

Day 292: 50% off Rush Haircuts, Tofu Salad with Peanut Sauce and Alpro Chocolate Soya Milk…

Grateful I decided to shop around and find this 50% off deal for first-time haircuts at Rush =) / Grateful for being able to – more or less – recreate my favourite Just Salad salad – Tofu, spinach, beans and a whole lotta greens tossed in a crunchy peanut sauce… Mmmm. YUM! Who said being vegetarian was boring! 😉 / Bloat-free Chocolate milk. Mmmm. YUM!

Day 289: Avocado and poached egg on toast, Meghan Currie, The day I listened to my gut and The Avengers…

The Breakfast Club’s avocado and poached egg on toast is actually a mountainfull of YUM! / Meghan Currie – I am so grateful someone shared your link on my newsfeed today. I mean, someone that mixes yoga with music with film and art??? wow. Honestly, what an inspiration! / Grateful for the opportunity to watch the Avengers on this lovely Bank Holiday Monday. I love going to the cinema! / Sometimes, you need to say thank you, disregard what you’ve been told, and follow your gut anyway. Your gut is what measures up and balances everything you know, everything you feel, and everything you’ve experienced in a very fine, very subtle chemistry. And that is something no one else could possibly attempt but you. Of course, sometimes you need a little guidance still, a little bit of help. A little bit of providence… to make sure it’s all okay. Just remember to say thanks when things are well received. Because without providence, letting go and trusting your gut would probably have been much much harder. …

Day 288: Paul Curran, Panda Cheese, Hazelnut Chocolate Cake and Picadillo!

Today is my daddy’s birthday. And I am grateful for the day he was born. Because the day he was born was the first day of a life that would eventually complete my mother’s and mine. So Dad, when you read this (because I know you will eventually!), I just wanted to let you and everyone know that I am forever grateful for the life, the upbringing, the guidance and all the opportunities you have provided for me, Mom and Alix. I love you. – krissa (queen of the dafties!) x / Hazelnut Chocolate Cakes from Chez le Boulanger = SO YUM! Next birthday cake? I think so!! / Homemade Picadillo soup with lots of veg, lots of soy mince and lots of ginger… YUM! / Today, I peed and cried and roared with laughter because of 2 things: Ashley and Pudsey’s semi-final performance and this Panda Cheese advert. Trust me, you HAVE to watch these! =) / Anna, thanks so much for lending me the £8. I really need to stop walking out of the …

Day 282: The Milky Way Tree, Ryvita with Moroccan Hummus, Every time my sister interrupts me at work and Corporate apologies…

To make a Milky Way Tree: warm a handful of fake (Quorn) chicken meat; chop and dice fresh, plump avocadoes; toss some fresh, crunchy spinach leaves; serve all together with a natural yoghurt and fresh lemon pepper sauce and voila! – you have just tasted a little bit of heaven… Grateful! / Ryvita with Moroccan hummus = YUM! / Every time my sister pesters and pings and pings and pesters to chat and to video skype at work… I am grateful. I mean, look at that face! How could I possibly resist?! =) / Thanks, C, for the formal apology. I’d rather ctrl + R though and start afresh =)

Day 270: NZCA/LINES, Beef with tofu, My big-ass computer screen, Steve Kamb and the Results-Oriented Approach…

Thank you, Jo, for introducing me to NZA/LINES. Good tunes for a Wednesday, I say! Favourites for today: Okinawa Channels and Compass points. “A sleek synthetic sound driven by a heart of human loneliness and longing… Seduced by psychology, spirituality, science fiction, Peruvian geoglyphs and forward-thinking RnB production, Michael Lovett’s arrival at gossamer synths-laden electro pop is a pleasing surprise amidst such eclecticism… Creating a world of dystopian landscapes, populated by lost souls and lost lovers, it’s a set that’s apocalyptic without needing any blockbuster dramatics to paint a bleak picture of a future full of roaming sentinels and desperate biomechanics.” – Reef Younis. Now if that doesn’t sell it, I don’t know what will! / (Soy) Beef with tofu = YUM. Who says you can’t have momma’s cooking when you’re a veggie? =p =D / Grateful for nights in and SATC + Anchorman reruns with Kat. Especially when you have big-ass computer screens to play them on in my room (Thanks LH!). I swear this is just like high school all over again. The funniest part was …
