Day 359: Blackmill, Tita Dolly’s Bloom Book, The Owl and Pussycat, Shoreditch House Green Machines, Friends of Friendly Advice and The day Kat tried to trick me into sticking tampons in our fridge…

Blackmill – ohhhh I love that I found you today!! So beautiful I took 20 minutes out of my day to just listen, lie in bed and just… be… Mmmm grateful!! =) / Tita Dolly, yesterday I found a book on Indian Wisdom that my mom gave me when I graduated. Today, I found this book from you. And this time I actually read the whole thing from beginning to end… My favourite? “If you want change, begin it. If you want love, give it. If you want hope, embody it. Start immediately and do it flamboyantly. Once you’ve begun, don’t turn back. Change and growth can be painful and challenging at times, but as Lauren Bond said, ‘Every flower has to go through a lot of dirt.’ Life is about choices, growth and taking chances. It is about pushing through and moving forward. It is about loving courageously and not holding back. It is about finding a brighter, better way. You owe it to yourself and to the world to make the most out of the …

Day 357: Dharma Thai Workshop, The Art of War, Witnessing Mo Farah beat The Cube, Vita Coco and Gange-a-Midi…

The formula for a perfect, balanced, chilled-out Saturday is pretty simple: Embrace the summer monsoon with this Gange-a-Midi track. / Practice 90 mins of yoga with Jessica, followed by 90 mins of Thai massage basics with Rob and Casi. / Purchase 1 serving of cold, refrigerated Vita Coco and thank god you finally love coconut water and thus, feel normal. / Come up to the Stricklands, home away from home away from home… / Show Gracie some tricks of the trade… I have to say, it is friggin awesome and inspiring seeing a 7-yr-old do half of the Dharma II stuff I would normally teach in class! Crow to headstand included! Honestly, if I’d started this young… … I would’ve probably been taken off the planet by now. / Witnessing Mo Farah beat The Cube… WITH 6 LIVES LEFT! What a legend. Really, truly, made of gold! / Master Sun said: ‘Know the enemy, Know yourself, And victory Is never in doubt, Not in a hundred battles.’ He who knows self But not the enemy Will suffer one defeat For every victory. He who knows Neither self Nor …

This morning reflects my mood =) grateful! / This is actually the most chilled out track list in the world. Especially the opening remix of Sweetheart of Kairi. Man you just feel like a balloon lifting higher and higher, getting smaller and smaller in the sky listening to this… =) Awesome. Grateful. / And this… well, this is just powerful! 😉 / Today, I discovered you could make moustache smilees! I know! ={O! Day 272: Marquese Scott, Pumped Up Kicks (Dubstep Remix), Proud and buying my first stack of yoga mats!

Grateful for the moment Boris took a break from our meeting to show me this video of Marquese Scott dancing (though I would say ‘dancing’ is such an understatement in this case!) to this Dubstep remix of ‘Pumped up kicks’. There are a few moments in life that have the ability to make your jaw literally drop open. This is one of those occasions. Definitely a must see! (You can close your mouth now, Krissa!) / Proud – one of the coolest venues for a night out I have been to in a long time. I love, love, love the stable setting they’ve retained. Awesome. Grateful. Sweet! / Today, I stole down to Lillywhites to pick up some yoga mats and blocks for my second teaching session tomorrow. Grateful for the discounts!! 😉 =)

Day 201: Animals Talking In All Caps, Rick Astley, Van Damme Dubstep and Boyce Avenue!

Clearly Comedy Friday. (Edit: I meant Comedy Thursday! You can tell I was tired when I wrote this!) Here are the things I’m grateful for today: 1) Animals Talking in All Caps – cutest, funniest blog ever. Word! / Rick Astley! – Somehow you found it into my life twice today. Just don’t give up do ya? =p Oh, you gotta love that cheese! / Boyce Avenue – acoustic band of the day! Here are some of my fave covers by them: ‘We Found Love’ by Rihanna. Wait til the percussion kicks in at 00:01:04. Oh lord I’m in love! / ‘Someone like you’ by Adele. Nowhere near as good as the original. But this song will always be untouchable, and sacred anyway. I appreciate his efforts all the same. Now to put this track away and in a box at the back of the cupboards for a while! / ‘If I am’ by Nine Days. Just because I haven’t heard this in so long! =) / ‘For the first time’ by The Script. Because …

Day 197: Jakwob, Jak dub, Reggae wub, Bob wub, Emo wub, Jo dub, Step wub, Wub wub… DJ Fresh, LIVE!

Jakwob, Jak dub, Reggae wub, Bob wub, Emo wub, Jo dub, Step wub, Wub wub… So many variations of dubstep inspired by tonight’s acts at the Garage. But ultimately one conclusion: I <3 (wub) dub. / So grateful for HMV hosting Next Big Thing tonight. Seeing DJ Fresh LIVE was so much fun. And probably unbeknownst to the company around me, more meaningful than I let on. You see, Louder was the song I blogged about a good 6 months ago. This song got me out of bed and strapping on my running shoes to, quite literally, run my heart out in DB. To hear this and Hypercaine LIVE, 6 months on… and to hear Louder played acoustically so you could actually pay attention to the lyrics… Well, it was perfect in every way =) Faster. Louder. Stronger. Better. Thankful. Grateful. Appreciative. x / Happy Birthday Dom Dom! / Anna, Bryony – awesome class as always. Actually, probably more fun… and funnier than usual today. =) x

Day 136: The XX, Baby Dub and Zumba!

I am in love with The XX. Listening to them is like sweet, hot honey pouring down my throat and into my heart. They are so good it makes my heart want to cry, if that makes sense!?! Most definitely album of the week! / Tracks I am playing on loop: Intro, Islands and Stars. / For cool remixes of the track Intro, check these out: Remix by Suprema, inspired by Rihanna’s’ “Drunk on Love” – to feel high and fly. Baby Dub version – to feel stoned, viscous and swim. Nas’ “Life’s an Intro” sample – to bring it back to the urban ghetto yo. / I cannot possibly describe how much fun I had at Zumba tonight, but I will try in a few words slammed together… It was like: Laughter. HipHop. Kat. Cali. Party. Dance. Fun. Soca. Salsa. Party. HAHA. Party. Shakethatbooty. END!

Day 96: Cut/Copy, Spector, Skrillex and the Power of Dubstep…

Thank you Cut/Copy for flying all the way from Australia to give it your all on stage. Particularly loved Tim’s temper tantrum with the guitar and the moment he jumped onto the toms like a monkey and continued carrying on his musical rage of inspiration… Thank you for the following songs: Need You Now*. Corner of the Sky*. Lights and Music. Hearts on Fire. I would now gladly listen (and mosh!!) to a bit of electronic because of you =) / Thank you Spector for supporting the band last night. I could have left happy once you closed your performance with this song, “Never Fade Away”. I love everything about it – the repetition, the truth, the clapping, the drums, the crescendoing lift… even the cheesy eighties-style echo that sounds like a rip off from the opening credits of Baywatch. Rest assured you have captured it perfectly. / Thank you Paul for introducing us to Skrillex and the Power of Dubstep. Not exactly as happy as the first two bands on this list. But boy am I adding …

Day 74: Radical Face, Real-time Countersignatures, Quantum DNB, the 'ATI' blog & the Pride of Britain Awards…

Thanks, Rooke, for the late night / early morning song recommendation. I can imagine this track by Radical Face is perfect for a cross-country road trip or a really long train ride… one through the middle of a dessert or expansive grassland, with wild horses galloping in unison in the distance – swift like the wind – or where men fight for their land, women, children and freedom in very slow and dramatic motion. At least – those are the scenes I am taken to when I listen to this song… =) / I love that one of our Clients are back in town. How convenient is it to have a quote signed and countersigned right there and then on the spot without having to faff around with typing, emailing, signing, scanning, countersigning, scanning and emailing back and forth! Signed. Sealed. Soon to be delivered. YAY! / I read on a Youtube comment today that listening to dubstep is like listening to alien-speak. Well if that’s the case, then boy have I found my mothership! …
