Day 357: Dharma Thai Workshop, The Art of War, Witnessing Mo Farah beat The Cube, Vita Coco and Gange-a-Midi…

The formula for a perfect, balanced, chilled-out Saturday is pretty simple: Embrace the summer monsoon with this Gange-a-Midi track. / Practice 90 mins of yoga with Jessica, followed by 90 mins of Thai massage basics with Rob and Casi. / Purchase 1 serving of cold, refrigerated Vita Coco and thank god you finally love coconut water and thus, feel normal. / Come up to the Stricklands, home away from home away from home… / Show Gracie some tricks of the trade… I have to say, it is friggin awesome and inspiring seeing a 7-yr-old do half of the Dharma II stuff I would normally teach in class! Crow to headstand included! Honestly, if I’d started this young… … I would’ve probably been taken off the planet by now. / Witnessing Mo Farah beat The Cube… WITH 6 LIVES LEFT! What a legend. Really, truly, made of gold! / Master Sun said: ‘Know the enemy, Know yourself, And victory Is never in doubt, Not in a hundred battles.’ He who knows self But not the enemy Will suffer one defeat For every victory. He who knows Neither self Nor …

Day 352: Being put to the test, Sue chat, Kan chat, Kat chat… and a little bit of Bon Iver!

Sri Dharma once said that in many ways, New York – or any big city for that matter – is the best place to learn yoga. Why? Because it’s so much easier to focus, lead a good life, keep clean, resist temptation when you are living in an ashram in the middle of nowhere. It’s when you go back to city life or the ‘real world’ that you are truly put to the test. How long, how much, can you maintain your focus? How solid is your conviction? More and more I believe the greatest test… is how to stay focused on the truth when your biggest fear and distraction is staring you in the face… “Be the bigger person,” it whispered, “And remember that home is inside your heart.” – Thanks. I’m grateful I stayed silent enough to hear this today. / Sue chat. Kan chat. Kat chat. – what a tongue twister. lol. thanks guys. miss and love you loads! / This.

Day 343: Finishing my yoga demo, London Pleasure Gardens, Indian curries at Brick Lane, The Five-Year Engagement and Hanging out with Andres and Shaun!

Glad I got to do my yoga demo today… and that it didn’t turn out like this! =p / London Pleasure Gardens – perfect weather for it! What an awesome way to spend the day with the boys =) / Shaun, what can I say. It was sooo nice seeing you today! It has been way too long. And honestly… I cannot wait til you take me up on a plane!! Super excited and super chuffed! Oh man, this takes road trips to a whole new level! =O =D / Andres… you’re not too bad yourself! =p Especially when you’re knackered! haha / Brick Lane curries = YUM! / The Five-Year Engagement… so long, you actually feel their pain! On purpose? I hope so! At least the ending and intermittent laughter made up for it! 😉 x

Day 340: The day I become a fully certified DYRT® Yoga Teacher, T-Rex Trying, This scene from “Meet the Robinsons” and Doodlers Anonymous…

Day 340 – The day I become a fully certified and registered Dharma Yoga Teacher… There are no words, except: so incredibly honoured, and so, so grateful. Let the journey begin… =) =) =) / I may have gotten straight A’s and a First Class Honours degree from Goldsmith’s… but can I just say… this certification has been more invaluable and is worth so much more than any one of those things. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart. / T-Rex Trying to me is like what the Bunny Suicide cartoons are to other people… addictive! It’s crazy how hard this makes me laugh. If I had wallpaper made out of T-Rex Trying images… I swear I would wake up laughing for the rest of my life… What a GREAT idea… Actually… I’m gonna go print some out now… / This scene from Meet the Robinsons… well, let’s just say it is a continuation of my joy =p / Doodles Anonymous… can’t even remember how I found it… but I’m glad I did =) Note to self: must draw …

Day 339: One-on-One Yoga with Kat, Conf call with Will and Yoga block massages…

This was me and Kat this evening during her one-on-one private yoga session =p But in all honesty, am grateful I finally got her onto a mat and under my spell for an hour… Just kidding. She came of her own accord. And I’m grateful for that =) / Honestly, in absence of a proper masseuse… you gotta be grateful for these yoga blocks! They are so damn nifty! – again, demo of Kat and me rolling desperately on top of our yoga blocks, trying to knead out all the tight muscles in our backs while watching… ummm… *clears throat* nothing in particular… / Mark and Will, thanks much for taking time to go on the call today. Much appreciated and very excited. #futureplanning steaming ahead! Ace! x

Day 336: Switchfoot, The Vitamin String Quartet, Shredding Veggies and The day I finished my Yoga internship…

Today, I spent the whole day finishing off my yoga internship requirements and homework, while listening to the most amazing rendition of Switchfoot’s “Dare you to move” by The Violin String Quartet… This will always be one of my favourite songs… And this instrumental version of it just… takes my breath away. Very happy today, and very grateful =) x / Who knew shredding vegetables could be so much fun!! Why did I not think of this before??? SO. YUM… NOM! =D / PS – remember this film? Yea… long time ago huh? =) x

Day 322: Teaching my 10th yoga class, My remote control apps, Buysellads, Movie2k and my local HSBC…

Today, I taught my 10th yoga class. Illy and Dani got up into their headstands. Amazing. Grateful! / So I discovered these nifty little apps called Hippo LITE and simply ‘Remote’. Hippo LITE turns your phone intro a trackpad that controls the mouse on your laptop. ‘Remote’ syncs up to your iTunes so that every morning when you are groggy in bed and still under the covers, you can roll over and press a button on your phone that will blast ‘Sweet Disposition’ from the speakers on your desk. LOVE. IT. Oh, mornings are glorious these days =) / BuySellAds – boy did you just make my research so much easier! =D Thank you. Grateful! =D / Movie2k – my new favourite evening pastime. Grateful! (Especially now I have my Hippo!! YES!) / HSBC – we all know it’s the world’s local bank. But when you actually have a local bank at the end of your street. Well, you can bet your bottom dollar I’m gonna be grateful! =D So convenient… Thank you, Ulla, for taking time to …

Day 317: Teaching my 9th yoga class, Dani’s cheeks, The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and Double Rainbows!

Today was probably my favourite day teaching so far… It truly is wonderful watching people progress and continue to push themselves more and more each week. And it’s amazing – like a dance… or a well-rehearsed orchestra – when the class starts to tune into that collective consciousness and begins to move as one. Grateful! =) / Dani… I… umm… There are no words to describe how much I appreciate this photo. I am just grateful I caught it on camera. Because this is priceless, and will probably put a smile on my face any day I want for the rest of my life! =D / St James’ park during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee – what a fantastic atmosphere and event to be a part of. It is hard for a TCK to feel any sort of loyalty or patriotic pride towards any given country because, well, we never really know where ‘home’ is. However, at least for today, I got a sense of what it must feel like to be truly proud to be …

Day 314: Day 1, Mind Body Spirit Festival 2012, Helping Clare, Trentemoller and Retail therapy…

Thank you, Clare, for getting the coffee and croissant this morning =) Had a lovely time helping you out at the Mind Body Spirit festival and so glad everything came together in the end =) We did good =) / #53 reason it’s awesome living with Kat: same size, same likes, same budget, same house makes for very easy shopping trip 😉 Gotta love that retail therapy. Grateful! =) / Very much appreciated my one-on-one hang out with Aunty Janice… grateful! =) / Thanks, Anna, for introducing me to Trentemoller… fave new band of the week. Grateful! =) x
