Day 191: Gmap Pedometer, Wrapping up our business trip, Foster the People, Flo Rida and The Art Gallery of NSW…

Grateful for Gmap Pedometer, which allowed me to track and record my awesome run around the harbour this evening =) Boy does it feel good to sweat!! / Grateful the big presentations are over and that I managed to catch a bit more sun and a bit more of this view out my window today. / Grateful for indie pop band, Foster the People and their catchy tune ‘Pumped up Kicks’ / Equally grateful for Flo Rida’s ‘Good Feeling’… You can tell this weekend has been all about the tunes! / I might not have managed to step inside the Art Gallery of New South Wales, but I could definitely appreciate it from the outside during my sunset run =) Grateful.

Day 190: Lying on the grass, Staring at the clouds, Avicii, Phoenix and Despicable Me!

http://www.facebook.com/v/540012186802 Grateful for the opportunity to lie on the grass and even out my ridiculous tan today. / Grateful for having a quiet moment to myself to plug in my earphones and stare at the clouds blowing past above my head. / Grateful for Phoenix and Birdy’s cover of their song, ‘1901’. / Grateful for a brilliantly hilarious start to the day, with both Gwen and I pissing ourselves laughing (or more like I was pissing myself laughing with tears streaming down my face) because of my random sleep talking conversation and this clip from Despicable Me! It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die! / Grateful for one last breakfast with James and Gwen. Until we meet again! Here’s my soundtrack for the weekend, ‘Levels’ by Avicii =)

Day 189: Bondi Beach, Australian Summers, Ivy Bar, The Argyle and James!

From snow in the Scottish highlands last weekend to soft, pale yellow sand in Sydney this week… I can hardly complain. Right now, life really couldn’t get any better than this! =) / I <3 Bondi beach and the fact that Gwen and I got to get our tans on during the 4 hours in the day the sun actually came out =) / I love Sydney in the Sun. Now THIS is the Australia I’ve been waiting for! / Grateful for the opportunity to experience Ivy Bar – Sydney’s ‘place to be’ for the creme de la creme of the social elite. Not exactly my ideal cup of tea but it was an experience all the same =) Besides, the actual venue itself was amazing –  Huge. Spacious. A bit of Art Nouveau mixed with hyperbolic instalments like giant hanging ivy plant pots, huge watering can showers to cool people down and cute little yellow drinking cups that looked like plant pots you’d put out in your spring garden… Inner balconies. Swimming pool. Rooftop …

Day 188: Sumalee Thai Restaurant, Newtown, Calvin Harris and Sydney!

Grateful for dinner at this amazing restaurant called Sumalee in Newtown. / Grateful I got to visit Newtown, which is to Sydney what Camden is to London =) Lots of character and refreshing change from the urban CBD I’ve been living in the last few days. / Grateful for the company. Good chemistry. Good crowd. Well done, Louis, for organising at the last minute! / Grateful for Calvin Harris. Most especially for this song last night! =D / Today was the first day that I really fell in love with Sydney. I love this city. x

Day 186: Awesome pictures of the moon, Being a Taurus, Astrology and Gwen!

Grateful for my catch-up and slumber party with Gwen. And the fact that after 5 years of separation and maturation on opposite sides of the globe, I’ve now managed to see this one twice in the last 6 months, as promised. =) / Grateful for my first solo cab ride around Sydney to work. I liked this commute. And I liked pretending for a little bit that this was my home and imagine what it would be like to live here. You never know. =) I have to say I do love the warmth. It might be raining, but at least it’s a refreshing, hydrating rain. Not one that freezes you to the bone. / Grateful for a productive morning with Boris and getting through our epic control document in one piece! / Grateful for Amir Jutt for sharing these awesome pictures of the moon. It’s always a happy moment when you see great photos of your most favourite thing in the universe =) / Grateful for astrology and the people that have taken time …

Day 185: Running through the Royal Botanic Gardens in Sydney, Life in a Day and The Taj Blue Hotel…

There’s this thing I like to do where as soon as I get off a really long-haul flight, I like to go for a run. So you can imagine my itchy feet after 24 hours of flying and with all the pent up energy I had stored up for what was supposed to be a whole weekend snowboarding! Suffice to say I literally hit the ground running this morning and consciously lost myself in the Sydney Botanic Gardens for an hour, conveniently located right next to our hotel. Here are some pix from my Nike wanders. / Life in a Day – glad this was available on the plane and I finally got to watch it! =) <- my reaction. I love stuff like this. What a great idea. It’s like one global, universal time capsule for future generations to come =) Maybe we should send one off to Kepler 22b… See what they have to say about us? Anyway, so that was my life in a day. Grateful, as always. x
