Day 313: Paper guillotines, Dinner with Badge and I Call This Place Home…

Grateful for paper guillotines – make my life a whole lot easier! =) / Always grateful for dinner catch-ups when Badge is in town =) Look at those chopsticks skills! =p / I Call This Place Home – my latest project and currently 1 of 3 passions I am working on, on the side. Grateful =) / Mom: you’re working too hard, haha. Me: it’s not work. i just have lots of hobbies that could potentially earn me some money so i can make a living out of it… 😉 That’s the trick isn’t it? =)

Day 312: My stack of Indaba flyers, 3 for £5 orange and carrot juices at M&S and My basic Photoshop skills…

Don’t know what I’m more grateful for, the fact that M&S had this amazing 3 for £5 deal on orange and carrot juices… or the fact I managed to hold all 3 bottles in one hand while I took this picture. 😉 Either way, grateful! / Thank you, Ellen, for leaving this stack of flyers out for me. Grateful =) / Were it not for my basic Photoshop skills, I would not have managed to put this flyer together in time to print tomorrow and distribute on Friday. And so… Grateful! 😉 x

Day 311: Covering my mentor, teaching my 8th yoga class and the Sh’boss boys…

Perhaps the greatest honour, is when a teacher turns to a student and puts the chalk in his hand. When someone believes in you that much, it is hard not to believe in yourself. So thank you, Mark, for turning today on its head and reminding me that you never really know what the day has in store for you until it’s over. Every second, a million other decisions are being made in the world that will – whether you know it or not – have some sort of effect in your life. This may be immediate, or it may come as a ripple that arrives minutes, hours, days… years later. Who knows? Thank you for keeping me on my toes and giving me the opportunity to learn and be challenged once again; the opportunity to practice humility and remember that I am nothing but a vessel, through which all learnings and inspiration find expression. From here, it only gets better. Grateful. / On a lighter note… this audition by the Sh’boss boys… is The …

Day 310: The ‘Thank You’ Prayer, Summer picnics on the roof and Paula Cole…

“If the only prayer you said in your life was ‘Thank you’, that would suffice.” – I think this message by Eckhart sums this blog up quite nicely in 16 words. I wish I could be so concise! 😉 Alas, I’ve yet another 56 days to make my point =p / Summer picnics with Kat and Sue on the roof. Grateful! / I am really loving this dish right now. I call it ‘My Vegetarian Moroccan Rice Bowl’, except I use cous cous instead of rice =p YUM! / Today, my mom asked me if I’d heard of this song by Paula Cole. I was like, Mom – we grew up listening to this song! Remember when music videos used to look like this?! Bet you feel old now, huh! =p Anyway, nice bit of nostalgia and admission there for you x

Day 309: Hanging with Sue in the park, The Warrant Song and My beautiful, new, dimply white buddha!

Today, I got to hang out with Sue in the park after her very very long absence! Hurray! Grateful =) / Sun Day = Play Day! =D / “Warrant” by Foster the People = soundtrack of the weekend. Grateful! / Today my future planning got stood up twice. Not the best case scenario… but it did get me out onto the roof to do some of my own homework, playing a bit of FTP, appreciating the smell of the BBQs wafting up from the next-door gardens below on my left, and the sound of birds chirping and some sort of African drums beating on my right.  / Today, my beautiful white buddha arrived, all dimple-cheeked and smiling =) Thank you, momma! And thank you, Aunty Janice, for bringing this over! =) This puts a smile on my face, every day =) I think every work desk should have one! / May 27th, I doubt a year will ever pass where I do not stop and acknowledge the significance you have had in my life. Come what …

Day 308: Teaching my 7th yoga class, Stefan Sagmeister, Homemade Mojitos, Backyard BBQs, Anna, Frankie and a bit of Bob Marley…

Today I taught my 7th yoga class… Grateful! / Stefan Sagmeister – Inspired. Grateful! So happy my book finally arrived =D Cannot wait to read =) / Homemade mojitos + Frankie + Banans + BBQ + a bit ‘a Bob Marley… well that’s about as chilled a Saturday as you can get, really! Ohhhhhh… Grateful! 😉

Day 306: The day my sister graduates from primary school… and #futureplanning.

My little sister “graduated” from primary school today. And how I remember *this* day so clearly when Mom, Dad and I took her to Discovery College for the first time… That was 4 years ago… Nuts. – Well, I guess today I am grateful for the opportunity to watch her grow, albeit from afar. I have to say, one of the most rewarding things in life is being able to watch a child grow up, and knowing that in some way, shape or form, you’ve played a part in that. One day, Alix will read this blog I’m sure, and if she can take from it even one of the many lessons I have learned this year… then I could only be so grateful knowing that that’s one less thing she has to worry about. =) / Specify your function. OK! #futureplanning. OUT.

Day 305: Getting locked out of my house and Leeks!

Today, I accidentally locked myself out of the house for an hour and a half after biting the bullet and going for my first “run” of the summer. But it’s okay. Because during those 90 minutes waiting for Kat to come home and save me, I came up with another brilliant idea to sell and market #futureplanning. Realised you just gotta f*ckin OWN IT! And so we shall. / Leeks. I love leeks. So simple. So YUM. It is now in my tum. =D =) x
